In the age of $100-plus special-edition game packages such as the "Call of Duty: Black Ops" Prestige Edition and the "Crysis 2" Nano Edition, we all expected to see Guerrilla Games come up with something large for "Killzone 3." For a brief moment, I thought their replica Helghast helmet was going to be a functional gas mask. Alas, that's not the case, but the bundle does come with some other special supplies.
The Helghast Edition will run $129.99, according to a post on Killzone.com. Your big wad of dollars will get you a copy of the game, along with a miniature replica helmet, a 6.5" Cloaking Helghast Marksman figure from DC Unlimited, extra video content, an art book and a voucher good for the following in-game bonuses:
• Killzone 3 soundtrack & PS3 dynamic theme
• Retro Map Pack featuring two of the most popular maps from Killzone 2
• Double XP for the first 24 hours of multiplayer gameplay
• Full access to all weapons and abilities for the first 24 hours of multiplayer gameplay
Those downloads will also be available separately if you don't have any desire to see the face of a Helghast staring you down every morning when you get up. Ponder your options and take your time, though. The game doesn't come out until February 22, and the the Helghast Edition will be available the same day.
