"Killzone 3" came out this week with much fanfare. The much-anticipated PlayStation 3-exclusive brings the fight back to the Helghast, complete with Move motion controller support and 3-D display options. A Retro Map Pack downloadable offering came out alongside the new release, bringing updates of vintage multiplayer maps into the new game. Now Guerilla Games has announced the next DLC pack, called Steel Rain, which adds two brand-new maps to your growing collection.

Both maps -- MP-09 Junkyard and MP-10 Stahl Arms -- are inspired by locations from the solo campaign, an update on the official "Killzone" website reads. MP-09 is a Guerilla map that pits "exoskeletons against jetpacks" in a royal rumble of kickass sci-fi tech. MP-10 is a Warzone map "featuring intense minigun-versus-sniper rifle action" in the Stahl Arms facility.

The locations probably only make sense to those who have played through the campaign, but the gist of it is this: exoskeletons, jetpacks and big guns vs. long-range guns. That's simple enough, right? For the official details on each map, keep reading for Guerilla's descriptions. You can also head over to the website for a video look at MP-09 in action; a similar one for MP-10 will be released next week.

MP-09 JUNKYARD
Game Type: Guerrilla Warfare (16 players)
Description:
The junkyards of Helghan are a wasteland to some, but a valuable resource to others. In the main junk processing facility of Helghan, ISA and Helghast Forces are clashing in an attempt to salvage vehicles and supplies for their war effort. Jetpacks are the key to taking the high ground, but the huge Exoskeletons can quickly turn the tide of the battle on the ground.

MP-10 STAHL ARMS
Game Type: Warzone (24 Players)
Description:
As the Helghast write a new and appalling chapter on humanoid experimentation, beleaguered ISA Forces mount a desperate attack on the notorious Stahl Arms research facility, where they hope to free ISA soldiers who have been taken captive. Stahl’s Helghast forces will stop at nothing to ensure that the ISA attack fails, even if it means exterminating the very prisoners they need for their weapons research.
